• The Bears lost 41-10 to the Chiefs, it was a horrible performance all around
• The offense struggled again, with Justin Fields passing for only 99 yards
• The defense was even worse, allowing Patrick Mahomes to dominate
• Injuries were a factor, with several Bears defenders getting hurt during the game
• This fan is very disappointed in the Bears’ poor start to the season at 0-3, and this bad loss to the Chiefs

Hey there, fellow Bears Fans!

Brent C. here, time to break this mess of a game down..

As a diehard Chicago Bears fan, I have to sadly report that my team looked utterly horrible in their 41-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. This defeat drops the Bears to a 0-3 record in this young NFL season.

The Bears offense showed no signs of improvement, with second-year quarterback Justin Fields struggling mightily again. Fields completed just 11 of 22 passes for a mere 99 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. He was also the Bears leading rusher, with 11 carries for 47 yards. Running backs Khalil Herbert and Trestan Ebner were ineffective, failing to find any holes behind a porous Bears offensive line.

Wide receiver Darnell Mooney was held without a catch, a shocking stat for the Bears WR1. Tight end Cole Kmet led the team with 4 catches, while Dante Pettis had the Bears’ lone receiving touchdown on an acrobatic grab. Overall, the Bears offense was stagnant and anemic for most of the game.

Somehow, the Bears defense managed to play even worse than the offense. Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes torched the Chicago secondary, throwing for 251 yards and 2 TDs. The pass rush barely got any pressure on Mahomes. Key Bears defenders like Eddie Jackson, Kyler Gordon and Jaquan Brisker were consistently out of position in pass coverage. To make matters worse, several Bears defenders suffered injuries during the course of the game.

After this horrible all-around performance, I have to admit I’m extremely disappointed as a loyal Bears fan. The coaching staff seems overwhelmed, while the roster lacks elite playmakers outside of a few spots. With a game against the 0-3 Denver Broncos coming up next Sunday, the Bears have a chance to get a win, but this loss to the Chiefs exposed just how far the Bears have to go to compete with the NFL’s elite teams. The rebuild under new GM Ryan Poles and head coach Matt Eberflus is going to take time, which means more painful Sundays for us Bears fans this season.
